In the past decade, two major advancements have transformed the world of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine –nanobiomaterials and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. Novel biomaterials have been developed in order to better mimic the native microenvironment of cells for biomedical applications. On the other hand, the differentiation potential of iPS cells has uncovered a wide range of potential applications, including disease modelling, drug screening and regenerative therapy. Our research group aims to further investigate the applications of iPS cells, cellular reprogramming and novel nanobiomaterials in the field of biomedical engineering.
