Mehmet Altay Ünal

Mehmet Altay UNAL received his bachelor's degree (2003) and MS (2006) from Ankara University Physics Engineering, Turkey, and his Ph.D. (2016) degrees from the Ankara University Biotechnology Institute. He then researched at the Biomedical Engineering Department at Florida Institute of Technology, USA (2014-2015). From 2011 to 2018, he worked as a lecturer in Ankara University's Physics Engineering Department. He has been a Stem Cell Institute faculty member since March 2018. Dr. Unal's research mainly focuses on developing cheap next-generation biosensor devices, understanding protein dynamics and protein-ligand interaction, and developing new drug molecules. Dr. Unal led the pharmaceutical project in Turkey during the COVID-19 pandemic.
